REV AMANDA’S PROFILE

Hi, I’m Amanda and I have just taken up post in the lovely town of Ivybridge. Being Cornish born and bred, I am thrilled to be back living in the South West. I was always aware of Jesus’s presence with me as a child, but came to fullness of faith in Him as a teenager.

I met and married Mark, who had just returned from spending some years on board the MV Logos evangelist ship, with Operation Mobilisation. Following his ordination to the Methodist ministry, we served the Church together in Basingstoke, Swindon and Greater Manchester. Along the way, we had two daughters, and I also completed my presbyteral training for ministry. Sadly Mark developed M.E. some years ago and so is no longer able to work, but writes poetry and is working on a novel, based on his family history. Rosie, a rescue pup from Bosnia, now completes our family.

I like to craft, love baking and enjoy watching movies. Being with my family, however, is still my favourite way of spending time. The other thing you need to know about me is that Jesus means everything to me!  He is my foundation, and my hope and joy.  My prayer is for His Holy Spirit to be poured out in fresh and creative ways, so that individuals will be healed, delivered and saved; and that communities will be transformed by the power of His love. Having just completed seven years looking after a cluster of churches in East Sussex, I am delighted to be working for and serving the Lord in Devon, and look forward to all that Jesus will do in our midst.

SAM ALISON (Family Missioner) PROFILE

Hi, My name is Sam and I am the new family missioner here at IMC.  I started the post in September 2023 and have hosted a light party  (celebration of Christ’s light within the world) in October. My main role at present is to plan and deliver activities on a Sunday morning for kingdom kids. This is a safe and inclusive space where children come, unapologetically as themselves, and are encouraged to explore creatively who Christ’s is to them and others around them. I have also been blessed to deliver a mini nativity in December and one I am (wanting to do again)looking forward to other projects with the church children, so watch this space! 😉

I am a qualified teacher and have worked in many different school settings, Primary and Secondary. I used to work at Giant Camps holiday club run in Ivybridge leisure center, before I had my two wonderful boys.

Working with kids and now having my own is a blessing. I love their creativity and their innocence. They have the ability to ask questions and be honest when us adults hold back. There is so much we can learn from them.

I am married and have two young boys of my own and am still breast feeding one of them. I have worked with our minister to make a comfortable area in church for nursing mothers.  💙💙

If you are therefore looking for somewhere which can feed your family with the knowledge and love of Jesus, then give us a try one Sunday @ 10:30 am or contact me via my email if you have any questions.
