OUR MINISTER – MARK LAWRENCE
Here is a brief bio of our minister:
Welcome to our church. We offer a contemporary evangelical fellowship, with a warm welcome for all.
I’m Mark Lawrence and am new to Ivybridge Methodist Church having recently been appointed to lead this wonderful Christian community. I have been in full-time ministry since 1997. Before that I was a travel agent working for a multi-national company. I’m married to Carolyn and have been since 1983. We have two married daughters, Joanna and Emily who live in Manchester and Bath. We also have two cats – Louis and Lily!
Carolyn and I love Jesus and are so privileged to serve Him through this local church. We have seen God at work in powerful ways around the world and rejoice in the working of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives. We believe being here in Ivybridge is a divine appointment and look forward to seeing God at work – saving, healing, delivering and transforming us all as we allow Him to work in our lives.
We do hope you can join us, if you are seeking a lively local church. We hope you can join us if you are seeking the way forward in your life and want to get to know Him and His people. We live in interesting times, but the great news is from the Bible that God loves us and is with us through Jesus His Son and the power of His Holy Spirit. Come and discover more of Him with us.

OUR YOUTH PASTOR – PHIL BLUNT
My names Is Phil Blunt and I am the Youth Pastor at Ivybridge Methodist Church. I am married to Rebecca.
I grew up in a Christian family, learning about God from my parents as they worked full time with churches around England, setting up Sunday schools and youth groups, and sharing Jesus with schools. This gave me a passion for young people and a desire to share Jesus with them.
I moved away from home at the age of 18 when I attended New Tribes Mission Bible College to prepare for full time ministry. While I was there I really saw a passion for God in the students and a willingness to serve Him at all costs, even to a tribe where they didn’t speak your language.
After this I returned to my parents and we went on a mission trip. When we arrived back I received a phone call telling me, “We need a youth leader in Buckfastleigh”. I went down to Devon for an interview and within a week started the job as their Youth Leader. God really taught me a lot through this about trusting in Him and His plans for me. I also learned through the many mistakes I made as a new youth pastor.
After 2 years I volunteered to help Ivybridge Methodist Church with a youth group on Fridays, which led me to my current job as Youth Pastor here at Ivybridge Methodist Church.
My passion is to see young people’s lives transformed and set on fire to serve Jesus in word and deed wherever He leads them.
